Trip after graduation? Family vacation? Summer getaway? We have the perfect European adventure for you! Europe offers an unique experience where within a short train ride, you can immerse yourself in a different culture. We wanted to experience as much of Europe as possible, but this only allowed us a few days in each city. Travel:
We used the Eurail pass to get around the continent. The pass was incredible useful and more than paid for itself, but the pass does not cover every country and there are additional fees for certain rides. Our trips to and from England as well as any trains within England were not covered. Public transportation within cities such as Pairs or Cologne were not included in the pass. Also, certain train rides require booking fees, especially overnight and high speed trains. Eurail offers a variety of passes based on your travel needs. We chose the global pass based on how many countries we were going to and the length of time we were there.

Lodging:
Throughout our trip, we primarily stayed in Airbnb's. We traveled in a group of four, and we realized that splitting the cost of an airbnb where you pay a flat fee for the room was the same price if not cheaper than paying for a hostel per person. Staying in Airbnb's allowed us to feel more connected with the culture and see how people in a city typically lived. It also allowed us to stay on a sailboat overnight in the middle of the Swiss Alps, which is an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
We also stayed on overnight trains. We used this as a great way to maximize our time in a city. When booking an overnight train ride, there are different booking options.
