For our honeymoon we went to Southeast Asia with our first stop being Singapore! With array of cultures and cuisines it is easy to see why Singapore is Asia's melting pot. This small island nation is one of the richest countries in the world. This can be seen in their exquisite skyline, luxury shopping and five-star hotels. This is a fairly new country so you will see that everything has a modern feel. We even had a robot deliver towels to our room! Below are the top ten things we recommend to do in Singapore. You may recognize a lot of these attractions are featured in the movie Crazy Rich Asians. This movie did a great job of showcasing the city of Singapore, and hopefully we can continue to show you why this modern city should be included in your upcoming travels!

1. Gardens By the Bay: Gardens By the Bay was an amazing experience and unlike any place you have ever been. They have multiple attractions, but the Super Tree Grove is definitely the staple of this well-know garden. These super trees reach heights up to 160 ft! They also have a skywalk, where you can walk 70 ft high between the trees taking in the panoramic views of the skyline and the bay. The park also feature two large domes, the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forrest. Each of these areas offer a unique experience, and a trip to Gardens by the Bay would not be complete without a stop in both.

2. Spectra (Light Show at the Bay) We viewed the light show from the Merlion on the west side of the Bay. The show is incredible and definitely a must see. The Light Show is free and is every night at 8pm and 9pm. Singapore is well known for its night life, and this is the perfect start to any night out in the city.

3. Hawker Food Stalls: Hungry? These stalls are known around the world for their delicious cuisine. The hawker stalls focus on a few main dishes that they have spent years and sometimes decades perfecting. These small stalls are located close to each other, creating a food court type environment. Each market area offers a wide variety of choices and some stalls have received Michelin stars. On our trip, we visited Liao Fan Hawker Chan, the cheapest Michelin star restaurant in the world, with meals as little as $4 US. One of our favorite meals in Singapore came from a hawker stall.

4. The Airport: Yes that is right, the Airport! This Airport has a free movie theater, butterfly garden, swimming pool, giant slide, numerous other gardens, shopping mall and so much more. So many of the Singapore residents were buying airline tickets just to go to the airport that they had to include multiple signs saying 'You must be boarding an outbound flight to be allowed in this area'. This unique airport experience definitely spoils you when you return back to ATL or JFK.

5. China Town: Like we said before, Singapore has a mix of multiple cultures that you can see in different districts of Singapore. The most impressive we went to is China Town. Only being to China Town in the big US cities, we have not seen one as authentic as this. As soon as you enter into China Town, you are instantly immersed into a different culture. The two main landmarks are the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Sri Mariamman Temple, however there is a great market, street food and various other shops that you can enjoy.

6. Art and History Museums: Singapore has such a rich and diverse history, leading the city to have countless museums and art galleries. We visited the National Museum of Singapore and the National Gallery of Singapore. We really enjoyed getting to know more about Singapore's unique history and art of this culturally diverse country.

7. Marina Bay Sands: Marina Bay Sands is beautiful resort right in the heart of Singapore. The resort includes The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands mall, a museum, two large theaters, numerous restaurants, two floating Crystal Pavilions, and art-science exhibits. If that wasn't enough, it also has the world's largest atrium casino with 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines. To save the best for last, the SkyPark (the top of the Marina Bay Sands hotel) is a giant infinity pool on top of the three pillars that make up the hotel and amenities. The SkyPark is open to the public for a small fee of $23 SGD. On top of their platform is a club, restaurant and bars, and an incredible view of the Singapore skyline from the infinity pool.

8. Botanic Gardens: If you did not get your fill of gardens from Gardens by the Bay, Singapore is also home to a 159 year old botanical garden. The attractions include a National Orchid Garden, Rainforest garden, Ginger Garden and much more. This garden recently became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015. These gardens are a quick cab ride outside of the main city center, and offer a great attraction if you want to have a slower day outside of this busy city.

9. Sentosa: Sentosa is a island resort on the south side of Singapore. Sentosa is filled with attractions and you could easily spend a day if not a week out on this island. Attractions include Universal Studios Singapore, Adventure Cove Waterpark, beautiful beaches, etc.

10. Singapore Zoo: This a must for all zoo lovers. Traveling with kids? This is perfect for all ages. The zoo takes you through 11 different habitats and is home to over 300 species of animals. Also check out the Night Safari, where they feature nocturnal animals.
